An exquisite George V, sterling silver mounted, tortoise shell antique jewellery casket.
This stunning small jewellery casket is constructed of thin panels of antique tortoise shell, set within a delicate sterling silver frame, by J Batson & Son, London, England.
The box sits on top of 4 simple square sterling silver feet, and has a hinged dome top lid. Originally, this box was sold exclusively by Asprey, London in the early 20th century.

(NB. A very small piece of tortoise shell has cracked away from the rear panel, as pictured. However, this loose piece is present and can be reinstalled professionally).
