Fine 19th century Japanese bronze letter opener / page turner , c1880. It is beautifully cast and decorated with a demon mask ('oni' ) on one side of the handle ( cast in relief in copper) and flowers/birds on the other. The main body is also decorated with scrolling foliage. It has taken on a great colour/patina following years of handling. Overall condition is good with no obvious issues.
