This is a fine quality vintage Indian miniature gouache painting of a Mughal court scene with a prince and three female attendants/concubines on a terrace with views over the countryside.

The painting is well-executed with the faces, costumes and jewellery picked out in fine detail. It is difficult to date but is more likely to be 20th Century rather than 19th Century. It is possibly a page from an illuminated manuscript. Three lines of Arabic text occur above the top border of the painting.

Condition: The painting is in excellent condition and is mounted on blue board with a blue mount in a pale gilt frame. The framing appears to be relatively recent and is in excellent condition.
