Imposing Frenk Oak Buffet Dresser
Dating to the end of the 19th century, this stunning 3 piece French oak Buffet is in very good all round condition. It stands on short turned feet with an attractive moulded apron.
To the inside of the base section there is a single shelf which is enclosed with 2 moulded panel doors complete with original escutcheons and working lock. The flanking turned and fluted columns rise up to support the gadrooned moulded frieze drawers which are constructed with hand cut dovetail joints, and they benefit from having their original handles.
The middle section has a galleried plate rack to the back and 2 turned balusters to the front which supports the top section. This section has 2 shelves to the inside which are both adjustable up and down. This is enclosed with moulded panel doors with original escutcheons and working lock. To each side there is a pair of turned and fluted columns which compliment the base section.
The top frieze has a moulded and carved panel with traditional ogee cornice.
This is a lovely piece of French antique furniture and would compliment the dining room of any home traditional or modern.
Commensurate with it's age, there has in the past been a tiny amount of insect attack to the Buffet but it has all been sprayed with a 5 star 20 year treatment..
The Buffet measures

55.25 inches wide / 56.75 max
21 inches deep
38.5 inches high.
top is 10 inches deep internal, with an over all height of 87 inches.
