I. Paul Henze-Morro 1925-1972 German Portrait Oil
We are delighted to offer for sale this impressionist portrait oil on canvas by the artist INGFRIED PAUL HENZE-MORRO, who has signed the painting P. Morro in the lower right hand corner. The painting depicts an elegant, blonde young lady dressed in evening dress, with a pink boa and long black gloves, sitting at a candlelit dinner table. Her head is in profile and she is holding a fan in her hand. The artist has captured his subject brilliantly.
INGFRIED PAUL HENZE-MORRO was a German artist, born in Leipzig on June 6th 1925. He studied painting at the Fine Art Academy in Leipzig between the wars, and after WWII under Professors Schinnerer and Gott at Munich's Fine Arts Academy. He visited Tangier for a long period and travelled extensively in Europe. He then moved to Italy. He died in 1972.
He paints floral subjects, portraits and some landscapes in oils. He signs his paintings, Henze, Henze-Morro, P. Morro and P. Henze-Morro.
Auction prices achieved by works by this artist may be viewed at artprice(100 listings), findartinfo(62), artnet(10) and arcadja(5). The record price for one of his paintings was at David Duggleby in Yorkshire in 2006, when a floral oil achieved £3,000.
The painting is framed in a 4" ornate bronzed gilt frame and is ready to hang.
