Howard & Son's Ivor 1890 Ticking Fabric Armchair
We are delighted to offer for sale this once in a lifetime opportunity to own this very rare original Howard & Son's Ivor Berners street armchair in the original distressed ticking fabric circa 1880-1890

Never again will you be able to buy this exact original armchair, it has the original period ticking fabric which is 130-140 years old, the inside back left leg is fully stamped Howard & Son’s LTD Berners Street and with the serial number, all castors are original and fully stamped Howard & Sons London. All the original horse hair padding is present, this is a super desirable piece
For those of you that are unaware of Howard & Son's chairs our late Queen had I think the largest private collection in the world, they are the finest hand made in England and most famous chairs in the world, highly collectable and extremely valuable, the more beaten up and original the better
This chair has a walnut frame, the fabric to the arms and backrest is the above mentioned ticking, the rest is later, the cushion is the original and it recesses under the back rest which was something Howard invented, the idea being you never fully sit on the back of the seat cushion so it doesn't sag as much

If sold items aren’t collected within three months and no arrangements have been made for long term storage you will forfeit the item and payment.

We prefer collection on all items from Wimbledon SW19-3BE, If you have your own courier or wish to book the collection in yourself we are happy to accommodate you.

Whoever delivers will usually require some help on the larger items to unload, if this is not possible please let us know as it will affect the price to send a two man team.
Delivery is to the ground floor only, again if you need help upstairs or in flats etc that's absolutely not a problem, the couriers charge £10 per flight per man per item, if you have a working elevator then naturally there’s no additional fee.
I’m happy to accommodate your own courier after a cleared payment has been received, they need to book in a collection time with at least 24 hours notice, all collections must be made within 7 working days of the close of the auction unless agreed by prior arrangement.
