Horseshoe / Equestrian Crystal & Silver Inkwell
A handsome novelty inkwell made from a heavy piece of crystal cut in the shape of a Horseshoe with a star-cut base, perfect for the Horse lover or Equestrian devotee.
The collar and hinged lid is made from solid sterling silver with a hallmark for the much coveted Chester assay office and the year 1899, making this a true Victorian example. The makers mark is also present for the top notch silversmith, Cornelius Desormeaux Saunders & James Francis Hollings -Frank- Shepherd.
The front of the horseshoe has a cut channel out of it to accommodate a dip or other pen.
Excellent condition, measuring 2 5/8" x 2 3/8" x 1 1/2" tall.
