An early 19th century fabulous oil portrait on canvas of a chestnut hunter called Larkspur,
depicted in a landscape setting.

Signed E M Fox and dated 1832 lower right corner.

Also inscribed Larkspur in the middle lower margin, found under ultra violet light.

Beautiful antique patina to the painted surface, retaining all the age and finish after 190 years the painted surface looks like museum quality.

Edwin M Fox ( active 1830-1870 ) worked in the Birmingham area producing portraits of race horses and hunters.Known for his ability to show the character of the horses he painted.

Returns are accepted within 14 days of receipt if the item is found to have been misdescribed and the purchaser may be liable for the return costs subject to reasons for return.
