A large and fine oil on canvas painting by John W. Morris. The painting shows a group of Highland cattle on a misty hillside in the morning half light. The painting is in good condition with a light craqualeure. The large gilt frame is of the period and in good original untouched condition, it is probably the original. The painting is signed by the artist to the lower left. John W. Morris (1865-1924) was a prolific and highly sort after specialist animal painter. The painting as a whole has a great country house look and is ready to hang. C.1900.
