Heinrich T. Korn German Still Life Oil Panel 1910
We are pleased to offer this very well executed and detailed Still Life Oil Painting by the German artist Heinrich T. Korn, who has signed the painting H.T. Korn in the lower right hand corner. The painting depicts a composition of items on a table, which comprises a lobster on a pewter plate, a tall green glass on a stem, a gilt metal beer stein, a knife, a bunch of green grapes and a tall tazza or comport fashioned out of a nautilus shell, with gilt metal embellishments.
The painting is painted on a thick, chamferred pine panel and, consequently has a very flat surface and, having a black background, has proved incredibly difficult to photograph, so please excuse the photographs which are not up to our normal standard. Please ignore any white marks on the photos as they are not on the painting itself. We have, unfortunately, been unable to capture the signature on camera.
Attached to the back of the panel is a card which has a short typed biography. It states that the painting is by 'Heinrich T. Korn (circa 1910). A German still-life painter who worked in Hamburg during the early part of this Century.' (Obviously this was typed prior to 2000) 'He worked in a style similar to that of the early German masters in this field. A superb quality still-life. Fully signed.' However, apart from Benezit, we have no reference books detailing German or European artists and Benezit had no listing for him and nor could we find any reference to him on google, or on the auction sites in the last twenty years, so we cannot confirm what has been written.
The painting is framed in a very nice 2" ornate swept gilt frame. It will be supplied wired and ready to hang.

Medium: Oils on pine panel
Condition: Excellent. The surface if clean and there is no damage, paint loss or craquelure. The frame is in good condition with no losses.
