Handsome Terrestrial Globe on Turned Wood Stand


A handsome terrestrial globe on a quality turned wood and gilt metal and brass stand, the stand is probably early 19th c with the globe being mid 20th c.
It is approx. 55 inches tall and 18 inches diameter.
The round base has a gilt medal circular acanthus style fitting with the turned gun barrel stem fitting into gilt cup attached to the base, the globe itself has an ebonised wood finial which secures it to the top.
The base stands on brass Regency style lions paw feet.
