Grand Regency Antique Original Gilt Mirror
Grand Regency Antique Original Gilt Mirror.
This impressive sized English antique mirror dates from around 1820, the Regency period.
The original gold leaf finish is beautifully bright, the gilt mirror frame is a mass of Regency gesso work motifs and decorations, including lions head masks, laurel leaf rings, acanthus leaves, cornucopia and other foliage.
The mottled rectangular mercury glass mirror plate is original as is the solid, pine panelled back.
This large, beautiful antique gilt mirror can be hung both portrait and landscape ways or just leant up against a wall as a dressing mirror.
The original gold leaf finish is in very good condition given its age, there are small amounts of loss which is to be expected.
