A magnificent and highly sought-after American Gorham Silver Company Cocktail Shaker created in the form of an WW1 Artillery gun shell.

Made from silver plate, gold plate and copper the front part of the shell is the cocktail shaker marked on the underside "Fac-Simile Eighteen Pounder Shapnel Shell" and "Patent Applied For In America and Foreign Countries".

The base of the shell is marked in the same way as the front above and acts as a holder for a frame which holds four custom-made replacement glasses

This model is featured on page 22 of the cocktail shaker by Simon Khachadourian, circa 1918. Professionally cleaned and restored to it's former glory dating to c.1918. This is one of the most collectable pieces of barware in excellent condition. Towering 22 3/8" all with a diameter measuring 3.94" in diameter.
