Good Very Large Antique Gilt Swept Frame
This is a good very large early 20th century gilt and gesso picture frame with its original gilt finish dating from around 1930. The frame is very heavy being in a good quality hardwood with a later solid oak inner slip.
The frame measures 128 cms by 96 cms overall 96
The aperture at the front (gilt frame) measures 100.5 cms by 65.5 cms
The aperture at the front (inside of oak slip) measures 95 cms by 64 cms.
The rebate at back (frame) measures 103.5 cms by 72.5 cms.
The rebate of the oak slip measures 97 cms by 66 cms.
This is a really super, gallery quality frame.
