This is a good quality Victorian gilt frame in nice original condition dating from around 1870. The deep swept heavy frame has a reeded gesso moulding with egg and dart detail and original, deep inner gilt slip. This retains its original gilt finish with a nice antique appearance.
The frame is substantial in size measuring 102 cms by 90 cms overall.
The aperture to the slip measures 75 cms by 62 cms (24 and a half inches by 29 and a half)
The opening at the back for the picture measures 77 cms by 64 cms.

It is possible to use this without the slip which creates a viewing aperture of 82 cms by 69 cms.
