This is a very good Kurdish runner dating from about 1920. The runner has a fabulous colour palette the rich indigo field with columns of diamond medallions and flowering plants enclosed by colourful geometric borders flanked by carnation guard stripes. This a nicely drawn example which is in really good condition for the age. It has good selvedges, an even low pile throughout and just a little wear to the ends.

The carpet is of generous proportions measuring a full 500 cms by 110 cms and would suit a larger hallway.
