This attractive Antique Gilt Wall Mirror dates from circa 1860.
It is an interesting design, particularly the graduated gilt mouldings which hang lightly from the sides and over the central panel. The mouldings give an impressions that the Mirror Plate is divided but, in reality, it is one piece of glass with the moulding sitting gently on top.
The Mirror has an old Country House feel and has aged well with pleasing signs of wear showing through on both the frame and the glass.
The back board has been replaced at some time, possibly bby The Rowley Gallery, London, as it bears their label.
There are two, good, strong hanging rings.
