This Gilt Florentine frame was made circa 1880 with a mirror plate fitted behind the oval gilt slip.
The frame is pierced carved wood then gilded in the manner that the craftsmen of Florence made their own.
These mirrors are dramatic but also very tasteful and will fit in many places around your home.
As this example is rectangular it can also be used in portrait form, therefore you have 2 ways of displaying it.
