Finest quality Georgian Tortoiseshell Gold Pique Snuff Box,hinged Lid,convex sides.Fine Gold wriggle work on outer edge of Lid.Central oval blank Cartouche enclosed by Leaves, Acorns and Pineapples.Pineapples were symbolic of great Wealth, and Acorns stood for Strength.
Tortoiseshell still bright. Excellent condition.
Dimensions:-6.5 x 3.5 x1,8 cms. I am listed as a Private Dealer but some of my Stock can be viewed at The Antique Shop, 53, High Street Heathfield E.Sussex.If you wish, I am am able meet you there to discuss any items and also bring along any items which are not on Antiques Atlas but not displayed in the Shop.
