Georgian Steel Sugar Loaf Cutters.
A good pair of early 19th century (circa 1810) sugar nips or cutters, used for cutting a piece of sugar from a block, or loaf of sugar. Of course this was in the days before granulated sugar, more in the days of Downton Abbey.
They are sprung for ease of use and unusually have a piece of metal protruding from the handle to prevent the hand slipping whilst in use. This piece of metal also allows a better grip whilst cutting the sugar, which was not an easy job.
The nips are in good clean condition with just the expected wear of a 200 year old piece of kitchen equipment.
They are eight and a quarter inches long or twenty one centimeters.
UK postage is £5.00. For international shipping, please contact us for a price.
We want our customers to be satisfied with their purchases, so we offer a money back guarantee. Items must be returned within 14 days and in the same condition as sent. Please note that postage and shipping costs are non-refundable.
