Constructed in the style of the late Georgian (Regency) period, which was 1810 - 1830, it boasts classic Regency detailing from the elegant brushing slide to splayed bracket feet. The chest features a protruding moulded dentil cornice above a two-over-three graduated drawer configuration, with a pronounced serpentine design to the front. The chest consists of two halves. The top section is smaller than the bottom section, which consists of three graduated drawers. Stunning flame mahogany mirror matched veneers are visible on the drawer fronts, finished with cock-beaded detail around a solid mahogany frame. The drawers retain their original brass fretwork handles and escutcheons. All drawers feature the original working locks, with a working key. The drawers are oak lined and hand dovetailed. There is an elegant and useful pull-out brushing slide situated above the third drawer in the lower section. The lower section comprises of three graduated drawers in the same serpentine design, with a shaped apron to the underside terminating on the original splayed bracket feet. The chest also features its original backboards and the whole of the chest stands on its original splayed bracket feet. The top and bottom are original. This is an ideal item for the bedroom or landing as it provides significant storage space for clothes.

The chest boasts a rich warm red and brown mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.

This item would look superb in a variety of rooms from the hallway, to the living room or bedroom and is very useful as there are so many storage drawers. This item would certainly grace any home. So don't miss out your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.
