Georgian Oak Livery Cupboard 1800
This is a very good George III oak livery cupboard. It dates to around 1800 and is in good condition. The cupboard has a cavetto cornice above. The front and sides have fielded panels flanked by finely made fluted columns. The top sits on a bank of drawers, the top one faux with four drawers beneath. The whole stands on shaped bracket feet. The cupboard doors have their original lock and key with crisp bone escutcheons.
Inside, the cupboard is fitted with original hanging pegs and has a panelled back.
This is a really handsome piece of antique furniture. The oak is a good polished colour. The drawers run well and the doors are true and lock. There is no sign of damage or worm. It is a good piece, in good condition.
The cupboard could be used to hang coats etc. It would be possible to put in a full length rail if you wished to use hangers. Equally, it would be easy to put in a couple of oak shelves and use it in a principal room as a cupboard. This is a beautiful period cupboard.
The livery cupboard is 54 inches wide and 80 inches high and 21 inches deep. It splits in to two for moving.
