This is a such good period gentleman's armchair. The armchair is Georgian, dating to around 1820 and is made in solid mahogany. The design of the chair is known as a Trafalgar chair and was produced shortly after the date of the battle of the same name.

This chair is a cracker. Look at the quality, the carved back rail with fine boxwood inlay, the mid rail carved in the form of a scroll, the shepherds crook shape to the arms, the fine urn shaped arm supports. It is a joy. The front legs are turned and the back legs swept.

The chair is covered in soft hide leather and it is beautiful.

The chair is in good condition for the age. There is an old repair to the back leg- see photo. Joints are solid. It is a large and comfortable and sturdy

I love this chair. There is something very masculine about this style of period chair. It would look good in a well furnished home office as a desk chair or side chair. It would look wonderful in a home library. It is a top notch piece.

The chair back is 33 inches high and the seat is 18 inches high and it is 23 inches wide.
