George V Silver Fob, George Loveridge & Co, 1914

This is a fine George V Sterling Silver Fob for attaching to a watch chain. It is shaped like a toothed wheel with a raised central shield cartouche on the front and a plain back. The cartouche has no initials or personalisation.
The fob is made in Birmingham by George Loveridge & Co and dates to 1914, the start of the First World War. George Loveridge founded his firm around 1870 and remained in business until about 1920. He specialised in good quality small personal items, primarily for gentlemen.
Condition is good with no dings or dents and just the superficial surface wear that you would expect after over 100 years of good service. Please make sure to view all the photographs.
The fob is 3.4cm / 1.3ins from top to bottom and 2.6cm / 1in wide. It weighs a respectable 5.3g / 0.19oz.
The hallmarks on the bottom at the back are well struck and clear to read. They show the lion passant for Sterling Silver, the anchor assay mark for Birmingham, the date letter p for 1914 and the G.L makers' mark for George Loveridge & Co.
Shipping in the UK is £4 by Royal Mail 1st Class Signed For.
