George II red walnut & parcel-gilt mirror
A George II red walnut mirror, the top consisting of scrolled decoration with a parcel-gilt carved wood floral design. The rectangular mirror plate is surrounded by a parcel-gilt liner.
The frame also has further parcel-gilt flower decoration along the sides.
The back boards are made of pine and covered in newspaper.
This has the original mirror plate but over the years the mercury has broken down in some areas. This would therefore, possibly be more suited as a decorative item as opposed to a practical one.
