A fine quality watercolour signed and dated 1871 by the British artist George Hart Taylor. Exh 1880 at the Grosvenor Gallery. Taylor came from Devoran, Cornwall.Noted for his Landscapes and scenes of rural life.
This Watercolour is entitled "Pats Poor Prospects" depicting a poor farmer during the Irish potato famine.The detail in the picture is superb and tells a story. Condition is excellent colours strong with little or any fade. Original title has been incorporated into the new double mount.
