Gents Smiths Astral wrist watch, 1960s
A gents mid 1960s Smiths Astral wrist watch made in Cheltenham, England.
The watch has a hand-winding movement (60461E, 15 jewels, sub seconds), which is working nicely. This movement was first introduced in 1965.
The watch itself measures 34mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is plated with a stainless steel which has a long service inscription from Jessop-Saville, the Sheffield-based special steel makers. There is a little wear and marking to the back of the watch.
The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in beautiful condition with original hands, sub seconds dial and outer minute markers.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
