Gents 9ct rose gold Paramount Corrector wristwatch
A 9ct rose gold Paramount Corrector wrist watch by Pierce SA / Léon Lévy & Frères.
The watch has a signed Swiss 15-jewel hand-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner cover.
The watch itself measures 25mm wide excluding the winding crown and 31mm high excluding the fixed wire lugs. The case is 9 carat rose gold and there are hallmarks inside the hinged case back for London 1936. Overall the case is in good condition for such an early piece, just two or three little “dings”, nothing serious at all.
The lens is in good condition too, just light marking barely visible to the naked eye.
The dial is signed Paramount Corrector. Handsome Breguet style hands in a blued steel, a subsidiary seconds dial and an inner minute track.
We believe the watch was made by Pierce SA / Léon Lévy & Frères as the names Paramount and Correctormatic were registered independently by them. The watch company Pierce was founded in 1883 in Biel, Switzerland, by Leon Levy and his brothers under the name Léon Lévy Frères Manufactures des Montres et Chronographes Pierce SA.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
