Gents 1950s Orator Automatic Perpetua wristwatch
A gents 1950s Orator Automatic Perpetua wrist watch.
The name Orator was registered in 1919 by Manufacture d’Horlogerie Schild & Co SA.
The watch has an AS (A Schild) in-house automatic movement, calibre 1361N, which is working nicely. At some stage, the rotor has been replaced and it has been taken from an Avia watch. A Schild supplied movements to many companies, including Avia, as well as using them in their own watches so the parts would be interchangeable.
The watch measures 34mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is gold plated with a stainless steel screw-on case back. There is some rubbing to the plate on the lugs but the base metal is brass so not too detrimental to the watch.
The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial is in good condition with just a little marking. There is some marking to the hands. Centre seconds with red pointer end and outer minute markers.
A new leather strap has been fitted.
The watch will be sent in a new presentation box. ALL PRICES INCLUDE UK POSTAGE (excluding Northern Ireland).
