Decorative Second Empire Wood and Gesso French Mirror, dating from around 1890. The mirror plate has a bevelled edge and the mirror is all original - as the French say 'dans son jus'.

It has original iron suspension loops - one at the top of the frame and two either side for a hanging wire, depending on how the mirror is to be hung. All are solidly in place.

The back of the frame has the remains of the original velvet backing - the mirror plate has never been removed.

The mirror and it's frame have been given a gentle clean - but it's faded grandeur has been kept intact.

Sourced in Nantes.
