French Marquetry Rosewood Foldover Games Table
A lovely french rosewood games table. We date this table to the second half of the 19th century.
The table has been recently restored.
The table top sits on four slender Queen Anne legs with ornate brass mouldings on the tops of the legs and at the feet.
The table top has an attractive serpentine shaped front with brass mouldings on the front and side edges. There is an attractive inlaid floral marquetry design on the table top.
The table has a shapely apron front and sides with the front having a brass moulding in the centre.
The table top turns 45 degrees and unfolds to a square which is supported by the base. The inside of the table is fitted with green baize with a gilded edge.
The open table has a height of 30.5" (78cm) and width and depth of 34” (87cm).
When closed the table has a height of 31" (79cm), a depth of 17" (44cm) and a width of 34" (87cm).
This lovely table remains in very good solid condition with only minor surface markings commensurate with age and usage.
This remains a very stylish and elegant table. It will continue to provide good service for many years to come.
