Lovely proportioned French c19th landscape overmantle mirror with an unusual deep moulded frame and a wonderfully worn finish throughout.
The mirror can be hung as you see it here as "landscape" but can also work as a dressing mirror if hung "portrait" too.
The frame has a repeated leaf motif in plaster and the original gilding has worn so you can see the red base coat coming through which helps give this mirror a really very decorative finish.
The mirror is the original mercury glass and also has some foxing to it, adding to the ambience!

48 inches or 122 cm
33 1/2 inches or 85 cm
3 1/2 inches or 9 cm Based in Uppingham, Rutland…having been in the business for 25 years focusing on mostly French and English decorative antiques and interiors from the 18th to the early 20th century, hopefully a collection you will enjoy browsing and hopefully re home some of my finds!
