Framed Engraving 'Winsdor Castle in Modern Times'
Artist - Engraved by Thomas Lewis Atkinson (1817-1889) after the original by Sir Edwin Landseer (1802-1873)
Title - Windsor Castle in Modern Times
Details - Antique engraving, probably 1850s in date. There is a Printseller's Association blindstamp at the bottom and it is signed by the engraver in pencil near the bottom of the sheet. Not mounted (it looks like it was mounted at some point, but the mounting has been removed). Glazed and framed in a vintage oak frame.
Condition - Overall in fair condition. The engraving is quite heavily discoloured (browned) and faded. There is some damage to the sheet around the edges, possibly where there was a mount which has been removed. There is a small abrasion / tear to the skirt of Victoria's dress, and some other abrasions and scuffs. The frame has some scuffing and wear and some shrinkage splitting to the corners. The inner frame mount is loose at the bottom, meaning that the glass is a little loose in the frame. There is no backboard to the frame.
The approx. measurements are as follows:
Image Size - 71cm by 56cm
Frame - 95cm by 84cm, 2cm deep. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
