Framed Engraving 'Foxhounds Break Cover' H. Chalon
Artist - Engraved by William Ward (1766-1826) after the original by Henry Bernard Chalon (1770-1849)
Title - Foxhounds Break Cover
Details - Antique engraving published in 1821 by John Wolstenholme and dedicated to Sir Mark Masterman. Glazed and framed in an antique gilt and ebonised frame.
Condition - Overall in fair condition. The engraving has been pasted onto a back board. The paper and board are quite discoloured and browned with age and there are some heavier brown marks on the back of the board which do show through to the front. The engraving also has some foxing (brown spotting) and there is some water staining to one bottom corner. The frame has some scuffing, knocking and wear and some significant losses in places.
