Fine Library Chair in parcel gilt Mahogany by Bertram & Son, London, circa 1860. Stamped BERTRAM & SON to the front seat rail, and the rear castors are also stamped and addressed 100 Dean St (Soho)

William Bertram & Son established their business in Soho in 1830. Their stock included brass inlaid and marquetry antique furniture, some pieces being stamped with the firm's name & address, others identified with a small printed label inscribed 'BERTRAM & SON / 100 & 101 / Dean St. Oxford St W / Upholsterers / and / Cabinet Makers / ESTABLISHED 1830
