We are offering for sale this lovely on on George Rowney Birchmore Board by the artist F. Hindle, who has signed the painting across the lower left hand corner and dated it 1902. The painting depicts a cluster of flag irises, as well as a large blue butterfly on the right and a larger white butterfly, possibly a marbled white, to the left.

Unfortunately, we have been unable to discover any biographical information about the artist, but it is a very attractive painting.

The painting has been newly framed in a 2 1/4" gilt with pale detail, which suits it very well.
