A really outstanding antique butter dish standing on four exquisite legs with a pretty garland running around all four sides. The domed lid is locked in place with the lever to the front, which is used to open and reveal the glass butter dish within.

The lid is beautifully engraved and in the centre retains the original owner's regal heraldic family crest.

Unmarked, the dish dates to around 1880 and remains in excellent condition. 7" x 6 1/4" x 5 3/4" tall, the glass liner measuring 5 1/4" x 4 1/4".
