English Oak and Silver Plate Butter Dish c.1890 Antique English Oak %%alt5%% %%alt6%%
It's not often one comes across such a splendid clean example of these highly sought-after solid English Oak butter dishes finished with silver plate mounts to both top and bottom with a quality screwed construction. The handle folds or stands for display, and the lid finished decorative finial.

The interior reveals the original pottery liner without damage. The underside of the lid is marked D&A for the silversmith Daniel & Arter and EPNS for Electro-Plated Nickel Silver.

A wonderful example in superb condition, measuring 4 3/4" in diameter x 5 1/2" tall to top of handle.
