A handsome antique Edwardian smokers bow chair / captains desk chair with makers stamp and date. Made in High wycombe in 1906 by Joynson Holland & Co. It has a curved top rail supported by 8 turned spindles set into a solid elm seat. The turned legs are supported by double cross stretchers. The elm seat has a beautiful swirly wild grain to it. The to back of the seat is a makers stamp and date. Sturdy and solid it has been stripped and refinished at some point. Would make a lovely desk chair, hall or kitchen chair.
