We are offering for sale this lovely little gem of an oil on board, by the Italian artist ELETTRA BRIANTE DE ANGELIS, who has signed the painting E. B. de Angelis in the lower right hand corner. The painting depicts a view of an Italian terrace below a house to the left. There are flowering shrubs to the right of the paving and a border of flowers, possibly geraniums to the left. The painting has been executed partly with pallette knife in impressionist style.

We believe that the artist was the younger sister of the prolific Italian artist EZELINO BRIANTE, who was born in Naples in 1901 and died in Florence in 1971. She was born in 1906 and paints in a similar impressionist style and colour pallette to her brother, although she was less prolific. It is possible that de Angelis was her married name.

The painting is framed in a 2" gilt frame with linen insert and is ready to hang.
