Elaborate Carved Oak Corner Chair
This lovely corner chair dates from approx. the 1930s, but is older in style. It has an elaborately carved oak frame with carved fruit to the top of the back rail. The chair has a lift-out upholstered seat pad with a leatherette covering that we believe to be original. It is supported on three carved square legs and a front central cabriole leg with a carved shoulder and a ball and claw foot.
Condition Overall this chair is in usuable condition but does have some wear consistent with age and use. There is some movement in the joints and one joint (to the right-hand of the seat frame) shows some signs of repair and is a little loose. There is some scuffing and wear to the woodwork as might be expected and some knocking around the edges. There is some loss to the middle of both decorative back-splats. The upholstered seat pad is in good condition with no rips or tears.
The approx. measurements are as follows
Overall - 79.5cm high, 75cm wide (arm to arm), 71cm deep (from corner to front) (to maximums) 46cm high to seat. Further images are available. Please don't hesitate to contact us if you have any queries. Viewing is welcome, but please contact us before travelling as we are only open by appointment.
We can arrange delivery of both smaller items and furniture - please contact us for details and a quote. Customers are also welcome to use their own couriers if preferred.
Payment can be made by PayPal, bank transfer, cheque [UK only], and cash on collection.
