Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Edwardian walnut revolving high back office armchair, featuring a serviced reclining and height adjustable mechanism, circa 1910, in excellent condition. Benefitting from a high back (which makes the chair comfortable to sit at and ideal for stronger back support), the chair features a curved bar back, with a pierced curved fan back below. Scroll arms on elegant shaped vertical supports secure the back. The seat is upholstered with a padded tan brown leather hide, which displays a mellow warm colour, finished with hand tacked brass studs. The chair sits on four splayed walnut legs that terminate on the solid brass castors. The chair incorporates its original cast iron mechanism allowing it to rotate 360 degrees and recline backwards. The seat height can be adjusted by turning a ribbed metal screw on the underside of the chair. The chair mechanism has been restored and serviced and is in excellent working order. The chair is extremely comfortable to sit on as it features a padded leather seat with a high back.
The chair features a lovely mellow walnut colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home, especially the office or study as it is so comfortable. This item would certainly grace any home. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.
Condition Report:
The chair and mechanism are in excellent condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair frame and seat but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The seat is upholstered with a padded tan brown leather hide, which displays a mellow warm colour. Nominal old use marks and colour variation to the old leather seat (see photos). The chair incorporates its original cast iron mechanism allowing it to rotate 360 degrees and recline backwards. The reclining and adjustable height mechanism is in good working order, having just been cleaned and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The chair features a mellow walnut colour, having been cleaned and polished in our workshops. The chair incorporates solid brass castors, which are also in good condition. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.

We do not offer free delivery to locations north of Stirling in Scotland, Northern Ireland, or any British Islands off the mainland for example, the Isle of Man, Isle of White and Channel Islands. Delivery times are usually 1-4 weeks depending on location we aim to deliver the majority of items within 2 weeks. All items are professionally packaged and fully insured in transit, therefore, we can assure you, your items will be securely protected in transit and arrive safely with you.
Once you have purchased an item, we will contact you be email and/or telephone and provide you with a provisional delivery date, in order for you to confirm if it is suitable for you.
