This is a very smart armchair in the Regency style which dates from around 1900. The chair is a pleasing shape, appearing quite upright from the front but with sabre legs giving it a curvaceous look from the side. The capacious seat is well padded and most comfortable and the frame and construction of the chair is quite sound. There has been an historical repair to the front leg as shown but professionally done and again is quite sound. The armchair has been recently upholstered in an attractive gold leaf design satin fabric and is in excellent order. It measures 94 cms high 70 cms wide 82 cms deep and the seat height is 45 cms.
