Description:
This is a superb quality antique English Edwardian mahogany oval drinks tray, incorporating profuse walnut, satinwood and olivewood marquetry inlay, circa 1900, in good original condition. The tray boasts a central sunburst motif inlay, encircled by further marquetry inlay depicting flowers and stems, incorporating satinwood, olivewood and walnut wood. The quality of craftsmanship and marquetry inlay with which this scene has been created is outstanding and rarely seen. To the perimeter of the tray is a mahogany single piece banded gallery. The tray retains the original shaped brass carrying handles. The level of detail and craftsmanship displayed in this piece is exceptional, and the quality far surpasses similar trays on the market today.
The tray features a rich mahogany colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received. This is a very beautiful item with quality construction and is original throughout. It is rare to see one in such good condition.

Importantly, the marquetry inlay is all original, complete and intact. There are no splits to the tray top either. The handles are also original. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
