Beautiful Edwardian Envelope Card Table. Mahogony with satin wood stringing. Dating c.1905, this item has been in the same family since new, well cared for it is in excellent original condition. Standing 30" inch high on its original porcelain castor feet. Fine craftsmanship, it is very well made, the fabulous envelope top rotates which activates a wooden peg to elevate one of the leaves to open it. When folded out it measures 28" inch square. Sturdy and solid on 4 legs. Original brass fittings and handles.
An honest piece, untouched, that with very little effort will be a magnificent example.
A tiny piece of veneer is missing to the side which can be replaced, a minor/slight scratch to mahogony by the playing surface (see pics), a gorgeous colour it shows very minor/ normal colouring to top commensurate with age (a professional polish will transform this little beauty). None of its minor flaws detract, indeed they add to its integrity, but I mention for accuracy. A fine piece of antique furniture with a variety of possibilities for use.
