Unusual Edwardian folding chair of small proportions c1905. Solid beech construction retaining its original finish and patina. Chair back with reeded cross-rails and turned spindles to top rail. Wide shaped seat rails with newly upholstered drop-in crown seat retaining its traditional filling. Out-splayed front legs and shaped back legs, with stretchers. Open the chair measures 79 cm maximum height. Seat height is 42 cm to top of front rail. Seat measures 34 cm by 34 cm. Maximum width of chair is 40 cm. Height when folded is 90 cm.
This chair is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use. Robust chair with all joints sound. Folds and unfolds freely. Newly reupholstered drop-in seat retaining original filling and underseat. Historic wear and knocks as is to be expected with genuine antique furniture. Please see images as these form an important part of the description. Viewing by appointment only.
