Description:
Here is a fine quality antique English Edwardian beech office armchair, with a newly upholstered full grain burgundy red leather seat, circa 1920, in good condition. The chair displays an elegantly curved back, which are secured by wraparound arms. Below the main backrest is a curved central splat. The chair mechanism revolves 360 degrees and incorporates a height adjustment and reclining mechanism, which has been fully cleaned and serviced. The seat is connected via the revolving mechanism to the four sturdy splayed legs below, which terminate on the original brass castors. The chair is very comfortable to sit on, has a fantastic colour and it is in good condition.
The chair features a rich brown beech colour. As it boasts the original polish, it has a fantastic colour and patination this can only be achieved through age and years of care and cleaning it has received.
This item would look superb in a variety of rooms in the home, especially the office or library as it so comfortable. This item would certainly grace any home. So don’t miss out on your chance to own a lovely piece of antique furniture.
Condition Report:
The chair and mechanism is in good working condition. Nominal old use marks to the leading edges of the chair but nothing significant considering the age of the item. The chair seat has been newly upholstered in top quality full grain burgundy red leather, which incorporates the traditional brass studwork tacks to the seat perimeter and traditional hessian material to the underside. Therefore, the leather is in excellent condition, with no wear, fading or damage. The reclining and adjustable height mechanism is in good working order, having just been cleaned and serviced. There is some play to the mechanism but this is perfectly acceptable, and in line with the age of the chair. The chair features a rich dark brown beech colour, having been cleaned and polished in our workshops. The chair features its original castors, which are also in good condition. This item is solid in joint and ready to use.
