Edwardian Art Nouveau High Back Open Armchair
A stunning stained beech wood high back Art Nouveau open armchair and dating to c. 1900. The back features a central upholstered panel in between simple and waved rails. The uprights extend upward and then slightly curve inward. The shaped down swept open arms end in ball finials that top the arm supports. The upholstered panel seat is raised on turned fore legs and blocked back legs linked by stretchers. The armchair is traditionally re-upholstered from the frame by The Sitting Place. The chair is covered in Marigold fabric (navy and burnt orange) by Morris & co from the Ben Pentreath Queen Square collection and finished with lovely colour coordinated trimming by Houles. The armchair would make a very attractive statement piece. Table and accessories are for display purposes only.
Where applicable, our upholstered items of stock are fully newly traditionally re-upholstered in-house using only traditional materials and no foam so as to be in-keeping with the age of the piece as an antique.

Returns policy
There is a right to cancel an order from the moment the order is placed to The Sitting Place up to 14 days from the day the item is delivered/received. In the unlikely event that the customer/buyer is not pleased with a purchase made from The Sitting Place, the item in question may be returned. Notification of a return to The Sitting Place is to be made by the customer by email or by phone on +44(0)7341770324.
The item needs to be returned within a further 14 days to The Sitting Place and in the condition the item was received and suitable for re-sale. The customer is to take reasonable care and ensure that the item is well protected when returning the item. The customer is informed that a deduction of the refund will be made to cover for delivery cost to complete the return of the item(s) (unless otherwise agreed). A further reduction of the refund can be made by The Sitting Place if the value of the item has been reduced as a result of the customer handling the item more than was necessary or as a result of the item being soiled and/or damaged.
The return of the item will be arranged by The Sitting Place. Refunds will be made to the customer/buyer, within 14 days of The Sitting Place receiving the returned item(s). Returns cannot be made for items purchased from outside the United Kingdom.
