An outstanding quality early Victorian coromandel writing slope with fine quality brass and mother of pearl inlays c.1850. The coromandel veneered exterior with sloping front and covered pen and ink compartment set across the back. The surfaces inlaid with finely detailed brass and mother of pearl decoration, Bramah lock and escutcheon to the rear section. The sloping lid folding over and the pen and ink cover opening to reveal an original fitted interior. Sections to the rear to hold the ink wells, stamps, two covered compartments and a pen tray. The bark blue re-leathered surface in superb condition, hinged rear section opening to reveal a figured mahogany polished interior, with spring release cover sitting over three concealed drawers. Presentation plate dated 1849 to the interior. The finest quality, presented in immaculate condition with a deep shine along with working lock and original key. More items available via our website .
