A beautifully crafted walnut writing slope with engraved brass plaque to the lid in wonderful antique condition. The box has a brass lock and decorated with brass string inlay and opens to reveal beautifully rich writing surface and compartments for pens and inkwells. Underneath the writing surface there is compartments to house stationery. Like with most Victorian writing slopes there is a secret compartment that hides 2 drawers, a charming and desirable feature. A wonderfully made piece with elegant proportions, warm colouring, and excellent patination, offering both practical use and decorative appeal.
